The challenge

Marine Testing
Complexity Without Connection

From board-level validation to vessel-scale integration, marine testing spans hardware, firmware and field environments. Yet most teams track this lifecycle in silos, spreadsheets for the lab, logs from sea trials and ad-hoc updates before sign-off. When test data lives in fragments, traceability vanishes, compliance gets delayed and integration cycles repeat mistakes.

01
Spreadsheets don't scale to field conditions
Test programs managed in Excel lose context the moment something changes at sea. A design revision in the lab ripples through dozens of active test cases, and nobody's tracking it.
02
Lab results don't always hold in open water
Sea-state variability, environmental exposure, and real operating loads introduce failure modes that controlled bench tests miss entirely. Without structured field test workflows, gaps go unrecorded.
03
Hardware and software cycles are out of sync
Mechanical assemblies, embedded firmware, and sensor integration each run on different cadences. Tracing which software version was tested against which hardware revision becomes guesswork over time.
04
Compliance evidence is assembled after the fact
Safety certifications and regulatory sign-offs demand complete test histories. Most teams reconstruct these from scattered documents and memory, hours before a delivery deadline.
05
Components and systems tested in isolation
Board-level validation passes. System integration testing exposes new issues. No thread connects the two, making root cause analysis during integration far harder than it needs to be.
06
Test knowledge leaves with the engineers
When a validation engineer moves on, so does institutional context: which tests caught which issues, what conditions triggered what failures. That knowledge rarely survives in a spreadsheet.
How TITAN helps

Structure Built For
How Marine Teams Actually Work

Not a generic test tool forced into a marine context. Purpose-built for the realities of vessel validation, hardware-software integration, and compliance-critical delivery programs.

๐Ÿ—‚๏ธ
Requirement-linked test plans
Every test case traces back to a requirement. When a design changes, you see exactly which tests are affected, before you're in the field.
๐Ÿ”—
Cross-cycle traceability
Link board-level component tests to system-level validation runs. Track which hardware revision and firmware version were under test at each stage.
โš“
Lab and field in one workflow
Run bench tests and sea trials from the same test management structure. Results from both environments live together, referenced against the same requirements.
๐Ÿ“‹
Compliance-ready reporting
Generate sign-off packages and audit trails from live data, not reconstructed spreadsheets. Every test result, every revision, every approver: in one place.

How it works

A Complete Test Lifecycle,
in One Connected Flow

From requirement authoring to compliance sign-off, each stage feeds the next without manual data transfer.

1
๐Ÿ“
Create the DVP
Select tests from a test catalog. Define test phase, scope, technical lead and validation engineer. Link to requirements and set start and completion dates.
2
๐Ÿ“…
Schedule & Assign
Assign test requests to equipment and technicians. TITAN surfaces scheduling conflicts, equipment backlog risks and critical path impacts automatically, before they become a problem.
3
โš™๏ธ
Execute & Track
Engineers and technicians, work with checklist, logs, data or upload data. Stakeholders receive automatic notifications at every key milestone. Issues above threshold are flagged to directors immediately.
4
โœ…
Review & Close
Directors sign off on Test Incident Report (TIR) and generate automated TR closures through configured workflows. Dashboards confirm full test coverage before release, with complete traceability and audit trail on record.

FAQ

Common Questions

Can TITAN handle multiple DVPs within a single marine program?
Yes. TITAN supports programs with multiple components, for example a propulsion system comprising a keypad, actuator and control module, each tracked as separate DVPs with unified program-level dashboard visibility.
Does it support multi-site labs and field testing?
Yes. TITAN supports in-house test tanks, external sea-trial facilities and third-party labs with role-based access controls, documentation workflows and shared dashboards, assuming all locations have consistent access configured.
Can we configure our own DVP approval workflows?
Yes. TITAN aligns to your team's approval chains and notification rules without code changes. Each workflow stage can trigger its own automatic notifications to the relevant stakeholders. Your team provides the workflow specification; TITAN is configured accordingly.
How does the issue tracking integration work for TIRs?
When a TIR is linked to the test article (not a setup or process issue), engineers can export it directly to your issue tracking system. TITAN connects to your existing tools, allowing the TIR to be tracked through design resolution. APIs are supported for TIRs to move into whatever tools your team already uses.
What equipment scheduling capabilities are included?
TITAN provides backlog tracking, conflict detection, utilisation reporting and maintenance scheduling. Technicians are notified 4 weeks before calibration events and immediately on unplanned failures. Lab managers get a timeline view of all future DVPs for resource planning.
Can test article and prototype information be tracked?
Yes. Test articles can be entered as placeholders with a unique identifier, build pedigree, estimated availability date, limitations and fault history. Prototype technicians can see the number of test articles needed for a DVP and update their status. TRs have specific test articles assigned to them.
How is data security handled for sensitive test programs?
TITAN uses a multi-tenant architecture with isolated environments per team. For marine organisations with strict IP protection or data sovereignty requirements, on-premise deployment is available. Third-party access is scoped to specific portals and DVPs only.
Does implementation require code changes or IT development work?
No. TITAN is configured, not coded, for each team. Workflow rules, approval chains, notification triggers, roles and permissions are all set up through configuration. Your team provides specifications; the TITAN team handles the setup.
